Overcoming addiction is tough because affects the physical, mental, emotional, social and Spiritual parts of the addict and therefore requires a rehab recovery program that deals with each of these aspects. Otherwise if not working toward recovering of all these aspect that individual will not be operating in balance and therefore eventually run into issues they’re not equipped to deal with.
Drug addiction and alcoholism will enslave a person to that substance and lifestyle until that individual is set free from the bondage reinforced by that particular drug and all the other attributing and contributing factors. Therefore simply put drug addiction is having the compulsion to use and abuse addictive drugs to the point that they cannot stop taking them despite knowing that the addiction continues wrecking each aspect of their life. Often good intentions of stopping drug-use along with promises to quit tomorrow may turn into years of destructive behavior. And until a form of intervention happens by family and loved-ones or by an act of God when they finally get to a point on their own where the troubles and problems associated with substance abuse outweighs any benefits they usually carry on destroying themselves. That idea of escaping from reality and/or not wanting to face life or having the ability to confront life on life’s terms without drug is a trap that lands those who choose that path in a worst situation that must be faced one way or another.
Florida has a high drug and alcohol addiction rate and is a serious problem that destroys many people’s lives. It wrecks families, friendships, and can cause serious illnesses such as HIV/AIDS, hepatitis B and C, and other diseases. It also eventually leads to jail, prison, institutions or dead if the addict doesn’t get into a drug and alcohol rehab program.
